My KOOZO story begins on a November evening in 2011, after a conversation with my father. I had been thinking of bringing my own brand of furniture on the market for quite some time, just like my father did in the past. But how could I convince my father and what would he think of my vision? I knew that I would have to come with good arguments in order to get him to listen to me, since time is the only thing he never has. That evening, however, he listened with great attention. Probably because he was surprised. He admitted that he liked the idea but he also told me that it would not be easy to start something new in the middle of the present economic crisis. The next day, he asked me to translate my ideas into a good business plan. Just a few weeks later, I was able to submit this to him and his team. Although he didn't let it show, he obviously was impressed because he immediately made an appointment with a well-known marketing company as well as with his own R&D team. The most important topic was to discuss the strategy and to create a surplus value for KOOZO. My final goal is to give young design lovers the possibility to buy original and timeless design furniture within their budget. Only a well-considered production process could guarantee this accessibility. This was the most important but at the same time the most difficult step to realize this in Belgium. Every possibility was considered and after a bit more than a year, we had created a basis for a very well thought-out production process for KOOZO. Therefore, I was very proud that our first couches were brought on the Dutch market in September 2013.
For me, it is very important that our customers can enjoy their KOOZO couch carefree.
Together with our designers, we will continue to do our utmost to produce authentic, timeless, high-graded models with a long length of life.
